event_description: September is Public Lands Month and in celebration, BHA members across North America will be participating in our Public Land Pack Out, a chapter-to-chapter competition aimed at ridding our shared lands and waters of more than 1,000 bags of garbage.Members and friends will meet September 9th at Tim Hortons parking lot in Morinville at 9am and make a 10 min drive to clean up along Manawan (Egg) Lake.  Manawan Lake is very important for the staging and migration of waterfowl and is frequently used during the fall by waterfowl hunters. The area of the lake is also utilized by Snowy Owls during late Fall and Winter. In the Spring, the surrounding farmland and wetland along the west shore provides an important environmental habitat used by waterfowl, shorebirds, gulls and other species. The area is frequently used by people as a dumping ground.Planned areas to clean up are the dead ends on the South and Western edges as well as one on the NE corner.
