event_description: Join New England Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, Maine Parks and Lands, and the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife for a day packed with winter fun! Whether you’re an expert in the winter outdoors and just want some camaraderie, or you’ve never braved the ice and snow before but want to dip your toes in - we’ll have something for all of you!Break Into Ice Fishing(9 am-12 pm). Beginner ice fishing instructions, bait, and the free use of ice fishing equipment (register below). No fishing license required – it’s free fishing weekend!Trail Exploration(9 am-12 pm). Bring your own or use free snowshoes, cross-country skis courtesy of Maine Parks and Lands or fat-tire bikes courtesy of Busytown Bikes on the Park’s 4.1-mile groomed trail network.Fish Cleaning, Cooking, and Wild Game Sampling(11 am – 2 pm).
