The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. Come join Massachusetts AFI and learn how to tenkara fly fish!
Tenkara is a centuries old method of fly fishing with a long rod and fixed line. Participants will receive hands on instruction in this method and those techniques
that are effective in New England's secluded trout waters.
This is a dual skill workshop, in which the participants will learn about Tenkara fly fishing. AFI and skilled volunteers will mentor attendees on small stream tactics, Tenkara history and conservation efforts in Massachusetts.
All Tenkara fly fishing equipment will be provided to attendees. Expect to wet wade during this event, so have pants/shorts and shoes you do not mind getting wet. If you would prefer to wear waders, feel free to bring them.
*A Massachusetts fishing license is needed.*
