Come join the Iowa Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers in partnership with the Lyon County Conservation Board for an afternoon of fly fishing! Explore fly-fishing for some of the 148-plus fish species in Iowa during Iowa's Free Fishing Weekend. Guest Dan Frasier (@dcfrasier), author of The Orvis Beginners Guide to Carp Flies, gives insight into fly fishing for often overlooked species.
We will meet at the East Shelter Building. Park Entrance Fee waived for attendees. The afternoon will begin with Dan reviewing the mechanics of casting and a hands-on opportunity for attendees to try out his casting techniques. After the seminar, participants will have a chance to put those skills to the test and fish openly for the rest of the afternoon.
We will also be drawing for prizes.
This event is free and open to all.
