Join the Kentucky BHA Chapter and Kentucky Native Plant Society at 10am on July 29th for a plant ID tour of Fleming WMA. Located outside of Flemingsburg, this wonderful 1907 acre piece of public property boasts a robust diversity of native plants. Throughout the tour, we hope to see one or more native orchid species, wetland plants, and numerous more. There are some nice boggy areas, so bug spray, long pants, and tall boots are highly recommended. You might want to bring a change of clothes too! Don't forget some water and snacks as it may be a little warm out there but a perfect time to location numerous plant species!
The Kentucky Native Plant Society is a great Kentucky organization that started in 1986 that brings folks together to focus on native Kentucky plant species.
We will meet at the main parking lot on the south side of Fleming WMA at the end of Dudley Hollow Rd north of Wallingford. Parking spaces are fairly limited, try to carpool if possible. You can view the Fleming WMA map HERE.
Please RSVP so that we can plan on your attendance and then make sure to invite your friends and family along too!
