It is not an April Fools joke that your Kentucky Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers is hosting our first ever trap tournament to raise money for our mission.
The Sine Die Shootout for the Herbert Mackey Trophy will be held on April 1st at the Stuecker Trap Range, 521 Hedge Apple Lane in Sonora, Kentucky 42776. The trap range is relatively new and so is the road built to get to it. So, if you cannot find the address in Google or OnX, please punch in this latitude and longitude: 37.546316, -85.915020
Participation is simple:
- $40 is general registration for the shooting tournament
- Best Value: $65 is tournament registration, plus two raffle tickets, AND a one year membership to Backcountry Hunters & Anglers
Shooters will compete for some great prizes!
- First place will receive brand new 20ga Weatherby Element which has beautiful woodwork along with the BHA logo
- Second Place will receive an awesome custom-made duck call by our local master call maker Andrew Hadden of Hadden's Hailers.
Didn't finish in the top 2? Don't worry, we will have some sweet raffle prizes at the event so you will still have an opportunity to take some great home! Our national partners sent us stuff from Waltons Processing, First Lite, and Irish Setter Boots!

From 8:30am - 4pm, we are also hosting an outdoor gear yard sale!! Here you will find gently used outdoor gear that will be sold to benefit the chapter and our mission around the great state of Kentucky.
