KY Chapter Update

The Kentucky Chapter is a great group of dedicated conservationists that range throughout the entire Bluegrass state. They each take active roles in planning events to help cover the membership throughout the state. They stay busy!

March 5th found the chapter assisting with the 3rd Annual Wildlife Women on the Fly 101 event! What a great way to focus on inclusion and diversifying the outdoor user group.

The Chapter has hosted a variety of great pint nights in Lexington at The Elkhorn Tavern & then at the Sadona Taphouse, in Louisville at the Great Flood Brewing Company, and in Owensboro at The Brew Bridge. During these great social occasions everyone had an opportunity to connect with numerous members and Kentucky outdoor enthusiasts. These events have assisted the chapter in spreading the BHA message throughout the state while making valuable connections.

The Chapter has also taken a note from others in BHA and started a Backcountry Brew. This morning coffee hour at the Lexington Sportsmans Warehouse was a different approach to public engagement and it was very well received. More of these morning coffee meeting will be happening!

April 2nd found the chapter hosting a booth at the 11th Annual Kentucky Traditional Bow Hunters Association Trad Fest at the Mercer County Fish and Game Club. This event allows the KY Chapter to speak to a numerous individual from Kentucky and also attendees from various parts of the region. Michigan BHA board members attended this event giving chapters from states that do not even adjoin a chance to catch up on conservation topics and share ideas.

May 21st had the KY Chapter at Hisle Park Archery Range, shooting their bows and assisting with range maintenance. This event brought some folks together for a great day on the archery range and preparing for chase this autumn!
