Kansas Chapter Board Chair Kurt Ratzlaff and his setters
Behind every chapter of BHA is a strong volunteer board dedicated to getting things done – working hard on issues like public lands and waters access and protection, building and growing our membership, and staying up to date on all things conservation. Every board member has his or her strengths that help drive the organization forward and make us the fantastic community that we are. This month, we’d like to give a little extra recognition to one of those hard-charging volunteers who helps hold the crew together in the great state of Kansas.
Kurt Ratzlaff has been there since the conception of the Kansas chapter and is instrumental in keeping the i’s dotted and the t’s crossed. Organization and follow-through are Kurt’s strengths and are key components to keeping the well-run Kansas chapter board firing on all cylinders. And even though it’s the less glamorous side of conservation, it is one of the most important aspects of the work we do. Kurt has also been instrumental in developing relationships with corporate partners, Kansas Wildlife Parks & Tourism as well as county and state elected officials.
Kurt is balancing it all and doing a great job. Kurt, who also recently retired, spends his spare time following his two setters hunting upland birds in multiple Great Plains states. Thank you, Kurt, for all your hard work and dedication to the mission of BHA!
