Through his extensive knowledge of wildlife and natural resource management, high-level leadership and many days spent afield getting to know the land and its animals, Kurt Bahti has helped AZ BHA become a policy powerhouse. During his time as a BHA volunteer, he has helped navigate the tricky undercurrents of local politics and drafted insightful and robust comments for a variety of issues. He is now sharing his expertise with many of AZ BHA’s newly appointed chapter leaders so they too can help shape public policy through stewardship and engagement. Most recently, Kurt helped with an OHV signage install and contributed to comments for the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest Management Plan. Kurt’s contributions will no doubt have a real and lasting impact on public land access and habitat quality in Arizona and we commend him for his dedication.
