Looking for a cool volunteer opportunity? The Manzano Archery Range is nestled between hill crests and valleys with epic, sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and high desert glory. The Range is truly a gem. Help us restore it to its former glory!
Manzano Archery Range is under the care of the AFI Chapter on Kirtland Air Force Base and boasts archery lanes on one side, a covered sitting area, and a stunning natural path into semi-enclosed wild lands where the 3D shooting takes place. Join the BHA Kirtland AFI chapter for our Range Cleanup on April 29th from 8AM – 12PM! Base access is required! Coffee and water will be provided.
Our work on Saturday will include:
Bulk debris pick up, clearing lanes and paths from overgrown weeds, establishing and fortifying pathways and gravel steps, removing old signage and targets, cleaning out the storage spaces and re-organizing useful items, landscaping established plants, and more.
Please bring work gloves if you have them. (We will have some available for volunteers) Don’t forget sunscreen, a water bottle, a hat and sturdy shoes.
Parking on site is free. If coming on base as a guest, please reach out to [email protected] to coordinate sign on at the Truman Visitor Center prior to the event start time.
