The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. This stewardship project aims to promote conservation in the majestic state of WA! It's also an opportunity to connect with like-minded people and have a great time.
JBLM AFI will be supporting upland prairie habitat restoration for the South Sound Wildlife Area by planting native grasses and seeds funded by the Nature Conservancy. Post restoration stewardship, we will host a class during lunch at the JBLM AFI tent on local deer population and their growth and development. Lastly, military families who RSVP are invited to participate in a spring shed antler hunt for elk and blacktail deer sheds located throughout the wildlife area.
