Unfortunately, we are going to need to cancel the upcoming hops project for this Saturday. With the current weather forecast and sloppy conditions, I do not want to go out there and tear up the landowner's two-track with our vehicle traffic.
West Slope volunteers, BHA is hosting a hops farm clean-up this month. We’ve partnered with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and a local landowner in Montrose to remove old twine and netting once used to grow hops. The clean-up project will allow deer to move across the farm safely again. Please RSVP if you have interest in participating! Adults and supervised youth are welcome to participate. Lastly, all volunteers will sign a liability waiver when they arrive.
Due to the current circumstances please allow for physical distancing and mask wearing when necessary. We will meet at the location and will be working outside so please consider bringing your own personal items like water, sunscreen, snacks, lunch, work gloves, warm layers, etc.
Where: 5950 Rd. Montrose, CO 81403
Take La Salle west from Hwy 50 in Montrose. Turn left on 5950 Rd. Follow 5950 to a bend heading south for another .5 miles to the access.
When: Saturday, January 30th, 9:30am-3:30pm
If anyone can bring any of the following items to use that day, it would be greatly appreciated:
- 6-8 foot ladders
- Scissors
- Knives
- Loppers
- Hand saws
