Montana BHA is teaming up with the Great Burn Conservation Alliance to remove an infestation of invasive knapweed in the Indian Creek area of the proposed Great Burn Wilderness Area - a landscape we've fought to keep wild. We'll also be keeping an eye out for other noxious weeds as well. Much of this work will occur off-trail making it the perfect project for our backcountry members!
Volunteers will meet at 10 a.m at the Clearwater Crossing Trailhead on the west fork of Fish Creek, west of Missoula. Dinner will be provided Friday and Saturday, Breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday, as well as lunch for Saturday. A packer will be used to bring food and some supplies, but volunteers will need their own backpacking gear including tents, sleeping pads and bags, clothes, mess kits and personal effects The group will camp near the weed infestation approximately five miles from the trailhead.
Due to the logistics of this trip, firm RSVPs are required by filling out this form found at checkout on GBCA's website.
