The Backcountry Hunters and Anglers’ Hike to Hunt starts in June and what better way to participate than to hike with your fellow Indiana BHA members. We’ll be hiking in Chain O’ Lakes State Park in Albion, IN. The first leg of the hike will be accompanied by Interpretive Naturalist Carlynn Cornhill, who will give us information on how the lakes and landscape were formed as well as native wildlife in a 2-mile hike. After that we will be following a route that will be 8 miles long. Don’t worry, if you’re not willing to hike that distance you can opt out at various points to reduce your hike. Maps will be provided with distances.
This Hike to Hunt incorporates a Rucking training exercise although it's not mandatory by any means. Folks that choose to ruck, please use a weight that you will be safely comfortable with during the several mile route. We would rather folks pack a little lighter and have a great time!
This is an excellent opportunity to get outside with other members to share experiences while enjoying the scenic lakes. Chain O’ Lakes is a state park so participants will need to pay for their own entry. Meet at the Glacial Ridge picnic shelter.
