event_description: Are you ready to kick off 2023 with a great stewardship project?? Join the Indiana BHA Chapter and the Indiana DNR staff at Salamonie Lake for a pollinator habitat planting workday on January 21st. These pollinator plantings host a variety of positive impacts. They are essential habitat for all types of pollinators that have lost essential habitat across Indiana, but these colorful arrays are also excellent at filtering stormwater! Native plants are able to absorb over 75% of rainwater, capturing much of the water deposit before it can cause erosion and take pollutants to our waterways acting as excellent filtering systems to improve water quality around Indiana! Want to do your part? Check out how to construct a rain garden in your own yard! Numerous Soil and Water departments are available to assist with rain gardens and rain barrels. January 28th is a backup day if the weather conditions are not right. We will inform RSVPs through email and on social media with any event change.  Meet at Salamonie Office:  9214 W. Lost Bridge West, Andrews, IN 46702 Please RSVP so we are prepared for you! Dont forget to tell your family and friends!
