event_description: Looking for some fun and a great presentation?  Come join the Indiana Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers for a Pint at Heartwork Brewing on June 15th from 3-7pm EST!We will have Michael Spalding from Southern Indiana Sentinel Landscape provide a presentation covering sound science-based forest management pertaining to our Indiana public lands. This information will educate attendees on how the USFS and state departments are trying to create bio diversity on our public lands which will benefit all wildlife species while increasing opportunities. Michael Spalding, the Program Coordinator for the Southern Indiana Sentinel Landscape, has deep-rooted ties to conservation, stemming from his family’s land in central Indiana that dates back to 1889. Graduating with honors from Purdue University College of Agriculture in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry, he has dedicated more than 15 years to conservation efforts spanning 55 Indiana counties. Michael’s career has seen him work as a field forester in a forestry consulting firm and manage public forests, including Jackson-Washington, Yellowwood, Morgan- Monroe State Forests, and Atterbury Muscatatuck Training Center. You will also have a chance to join some like-minded folks and share some exciting stories about your spring hunts, get some advice for one upcoming, or just meet some cool people over a beer. Hope to see you out!As are all of our Pint Nights, this will be a casual, fun way to meet fellow hunters and anglers, swap stories and learn about BHA and our mission to conserve public lands and waters. BHA members advocate for public hunting and fishing and we work to maintain and improve access to places to hunt and fish. We also speak up for wildlife, guided by the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation. Finally, we believe in and advocate for fair chase in pursuit of fish and game. If those ideals resonate with you, please come join us to learn more and maybe become part of BHA.This event is open to all and is nationally sponsored by our friends at onX Hunt, who will provide a free, one-year OnX Single State Premium Membership for the first 15 attendees who initiate or renew a BHA membership at this event.RSVP below to let us know you’re coming!
