Idaho BHA engages legislators and IDFG leadership at legislative breakfast

The Idaho Legislative Sportsman’s Caucus held a kick off breakfast on Thursday, January 23rd that the Capital building.  The breakfast was co-hosted by Idaho Sportsman’s Alliance, of which the Idaho Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers is a member.  Other co-hosts included the National Assembly of Sportsman’s Caucuses and the Congressional Sportsman’s Foundation.

Seven Idaho BHA leaders attended the event to meet and discuss the legislative session with key stakeholders including State Senators, State Representatives, the Idaho Fish and Game director, deputy directors, regional supervisors and and all seven Idaho Fish and Game commissioners.

The breakfast was a bipartisan and bicameral meeting, allowing both sides of the aisle to come together informally to talk about legislation and policy that will impact hunters and anglers.  The strong showing of BHA chapter volunteer leaders was a great opportunity to demonstrate the importance of public lands, waters and wildlife in Idaho.  Idaho BHA looks forward to continuing to work with legislators and decision makers at Idaho Fish & Game to advance sensible policy.
