ID BHA Helps Defeat Two Bad Bills

The 2012 legislative session has been a challenging and productive time for Idaho BHA. We made a concerted effort to defeat SB 1283, which would allow landowners to sell public wildlife through the controlled hunt permit program to the highest bidder, and HB 542, which would strip the Idaho Department of Fish and Game of its ability to regulate motorized travel while hunting.

In fiercely debated contests both of these short sighted pieces of legislation were eventually defeated! In true BHA fashion grass roots support by our members for sound scientific principles of wildlife management and fair chase ethics ruled the day.

It is exciting to see what a difference we can make!
