Hunting for Sustainability: Part 1

This is part one of a 3-part hunter introduction course. During this workshop prospective hunters will learn a foundation of knowledge geared toward general hunting.

Experienced hunters as well as instructors from Colorado Parks and Wildlife will be there to help facilitate the learning of a number of topics including:

Where to hunt · Equipment needed to start hunting
Types of species and the habitat they live in
Hunter etiquette and safety
Background, history, and evolution of hunting and conservation in North America
Basics of butchering wild game
Programs offered to novice hunters through the state and other organizations
How to be a conservationist

Requirements:

Be age 18 or older
Be respectful of all participants and facilitators
Listen and adhere to instructions from mentors and facilitators.

All required materials will be provided through BHA and CPW. The following two parts of this series will be posted shortly after the first so keep an eye out for future BHA events.
