**THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO UNEXPECTED CIRCUMSTANCES. PLEASE STAY CONNACTED WITH THE MINNESOTA CHAPTER TO LEARN ABOUT A RESCEDULED FUTURE WORK DAY. THANK YOU.**
Join Minnesota BHA in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service in helping clear and maintain the Hunter Walking Trails in the Superior National Forest.
We will be cutting, bucking and removing fallen and hazardous trees from the trails, as well as brushing and other trail maintenance. These trails have been impacted by wind events and tree mortality in the last few years. These trails are walk-in only and an important access for hunters and hunter with dogs to enjoy our public lands. This is the same trail our volunteers got a good start on back in June, and we hope to get close to finishing this section of trail.
We will meet at Jenkins Creek Trailhead (47.37236, -92.00328) worksite and begin the safety brief around 9:00 AM and start work from there. Work will conclude around 3:00 PM. After the event, we can meet at one of the local establishments for food and drinks to recap the day.
