Join the Ohio BHA Chapter on September 14th for a Public Lands Packout in the Wayne National Forest!
First officially established in 1951 with 105,000 acres, Wayne National Forest now encompasses 244,000 acres in the Appalachian foothills and is the only national forest in Ohio. Today, anyone making their way to southeast Ohio can enjoy a plethora of activities in WNF such as hiking, camping, nature watching, horseback riding, mountain biking, and of course hunting and fishing among other recreational interests. With so many people rolling in from all over to enjoy all that the Wayne has to offer, some of them lose and leave behind the very thing that carried them in: tires.
Help the Ohio BHA Chapter celebrate Public Lands Month right by getting tired with us and packing out as many tires and other trash we find. To kick it into gear, we're going to make it a competition where the people packing out the most tires, the biggest tire, and the furthest distance with a tire will win some cool prizes.
Strap on your packs and lace up your boots because things get dusty where rubber meets the dirt. Wayne National Forest is home to so many memories of why the outdoors and our national forest systems are so great. Help us lead by example and do our part to ensure that the amazing landscape of our national forest is experienced the way that it should be: tirelessly.
After working hard cleaning up public land, we will celebrate our efforts with a Pint Night at The Mine in Nelsonville where we will raffle off some killer prizes! Can't make the packout, be sure to join us at The Mine at 6pm!
RSVP below so we know you're coming and be sure to invite your friends!
Public Land Packout and Public Land Pint Nights are presented by ONX Maps!
