Join Scientific Anglers and Michigan BHA on Saturday July 27th for a river cleanup on the Grand and Flat Rivers in Lowell, MI. The Cleanup will begin where the Grand and Flat Rivers meet; an important spawning corridor for Great Lakes Steelhead, Smallmouth and other fish species that occupy both of these rivers. The goal of the cleanup is to clear as much trash and litter from safely accessible locations within the river and on its banks to help sustain quality habitat for the wildlife as well as a pleasing environment for anglers, kayakers, recreational boaters, hikers and bikers that all enjoy these riverside locations.
The cleanup will begin at 9am on Saturday July 27th at the Lowell Grand River Boat Launch located off of S. Hudson St. a short distance south of the Lowell Fire Department. Trash bags, gloves and water will be provided to volunteers at the event location. Please bring your own bug spray and sunscreen. Long pants, boots and or waders are recommended.
Following the clean-up, please stick around fly fishing demonstrations hosted by Scientific Anglers and enjoy a grilled lunch and some cold beverages right on the river side from 11am to 1pm.
