Renowned gear and apparel company to host BHA series of ‘Campfire Stories’ at locations across North America
MISSOULA, Mont. – Filson and Backcountry Hunters & Anglers today announced the launch of Campfire Stories, a public lands-focused storytelling event series set to unfold at locations across North America in 2018.
Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Campfire Stories Presented by C.C. Filson captures the energy of an adventure outdoors, the warmth of a night of campfire stories and the spirit of public lands hunting and fishing. Scheduled to take place in cities and towns across the United States and Canada, starting at BHA’s 7th Annual North American Rendezvous, April 12-14 in Boise, Idaho, the events will feature tales that range from humorous to heartfelt, told by a slate of hunters, anglers and seasoned storytellers.
Land Tawney, BHA president and CEO, welcomed the opportunity to partner with Filson and extolled the power of a good story – particularly one told by a campfire.
“From the first smoke that filled the air eons ago, stories have been told around the fire as a way to convey information and to entertain. If you have spent a night at elk camp or on the banks of a free-flowing river, you know the power of the flames and stars overhead,” said Tawney, a fifth-generation Montanan. “That experience and energy is a huge part of who BHA is – we were formed around a campfire in Oregon – and central to who we are as a community of hunters and anglers. We’re thrilled to find in Filson a partner who appreciates the power of a good story – and a great storyteller – to bring us together and to make us laugh and think.”
“BHA does an excellent job bringing together outdoor thought leaders to share their stories by the campfire in an environment that encourages camaraderie, discussion and fun among fellow outdoorsmen. We commend BHA and all their passionate supporters who have made it a priority to protect our public lands,” said Steve Bock, CEO of Filson.
BHA’s Campfire Stories Presented by C.C. Filson at the BHA North American Rendezvous will take place on Saturday night, April 14, at the Boise Centre in Boise, Idaho. Featured speakers include Steven Rinella, Remi Warren, Bob Marshall, Kris Millgate and others. Register now for the 2018 BHA Rendezvous, the largest gathering of public lands hunters and anglers in North America.
