Fall 2019 Iowa Chapter News

One of the focuses for the Iowa chapter is R3 (recruitment, retention, and reactivation) events. Board member Max McDaniel has been communicating with the Iowa DNR in planning multiple events including a Learn to Dove Hunt event that took place on August 15th, Learn to Wingshoot on August 17th, a small game hunt on September 7th, a beginner bow hunt in October, small game rabbit and squirrel hunts in January, 2020, and a multi-activity event in May, 2020. There will be LOTS of opportunities to help bring new outdoorsmen and women to learn and experience what Iowa has to offer.

Gator Outdoors has become our first chapter corporate partner! We thrilled with the partnership and look forward to enhancing our footprint in the state.

We are also monitoring several issues, including the Clay County Drainage district court battle, EPA policy updates, and we are hoping to foster a relationship with the newly appointed Iowa DNR director Kayla Lyon.

In the coming months we will be rolling out a new statewide organizational structure and soliciting input and involvement from our members. There are also multiple pint nights being planned, so stay tuned! For all the news, be sure to stay updated on our Facebook and Instagram pages!
