Archery, Fly fishing
What do you do for a living, or what did you do, if you’re retired?
I am a Wildlife Biologist for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
Why did you join BHA?
I wanted to give something back to the wild areas that have given so much to me over the years. I realized that these areas need a sportsman’s and a local’s voice. BHA fills that need and so joined up.
What’s your most memorable backcountry hunting or fishing experience?
I grew up spending almost all of my free time on pack trips in the remote wilderness around Cody, Wyoming and have been very fortunate to have numerous experiences there ranging from hunting, guiding, wildlife research, multi-day solo trips, etc. but my most memorable experiences were spent with my grandfather who taught me how to grow up wild and how essential solitude and self-reliance is to personal growth.
What do you love most about the backcountry?
The simplicity!
What friends and family members do you enjoy the outdoors with?
My cohort from the University of Wyoming wildlife program and my father.
