Join the Florida Chapter for a weekend of Small Game hunting and Etoniah Creek Wildlife Management Area.
Etoniah Creek WMA includes more than 7,185 acres in northern Putnam County. The area is home to many wildlife species as well as a wildlife or travel corridor for the Florida black bear. Scrub, flatwoods, scrubby flatwoods, and sandhill are the main community types. Etoniah Creek State Forest contains one of only two known population of the endangered Etonia rosemary found on public land. Etoniah Creek, Rice Creek, and Falling Branch flow through scenic bottomland hardwoods along seepage slope ravines to George's Lake.
We will rendezvous at the Circle K Gas Station, 1119 FL-100, Florahome, FL 32140 just outside of the WMA. It is a lengthy trek to the primitive camp site from the WMA entrance so those that wish too can meet and can convoy in.
All participants planning to hunt must have a Florida Hunting License, Management Area Permit, and a migratory bird permit (if hunting migratory birds). - Hunting with centerfire rifles is prohibited.
Lat/Long Coordinates for the Camp Site are: 29.73054, -81.80244 if anyone is unable to meet at the Rendeavous that morning. After the morning hunt we will be heading to the Camp Site.
