Heads up! This opportunity came at us fast, but we knew we had to do something with it and we’re super excited about how it came together. This coming Monday, May 20th, our friends at Great Outdoor Provision Co. (@trustygopc and @trustygopcraleigh) are hosting an evening with Ben O’Brien (@bennyob301) of the MeatEater crew (@meateater) and The Hunting Collective podcast and our own T. Edward Nickens (@enickens) of Field & Stream (@filedandstream) and so many other endeavors. Both Ben and Eddie also serve on the national board of directors for Backcountry Hunters & Anglers (@backcountryhunters) and are lifelong advocates of all things hunting, angling, and conservation.
Join us for a discussion with these two fine fellows at the GOPC Raleigh store in @shopcameronvillage (2017 Cameron St, Raleigh) on Monday, May 20th from 6:30-8:00PM. The event title is Ethics Afield: A Conversation for the 21st Century. It will be an open conversation between Ben, Eddie, and the audience about the choice to pursue game and fish in the outdoors and the role such pursuits play in conservation, culture, and the human experience.
This is a ticketed event. Tickets are purchased at the door for $35 and include a membership to BHA (new, renewal, or gift), beer, light hors d'oeuvres, and an opportunity to win a surely fabulous but as yet TBD door prize. Now that’s a stretched dollar! Doors are at 6p and we’ll have BHA gear for sale, too. RSVP on our event page (link in profile) to help us plan accordingly and we’ll see you there!
