Work Project Description:
Thank you for signing up to attend the work project portion of our Colorado Public Lands Day festivities. This sign-up confirms your spot for the work project only. Please meet at the signed volunteer pickup locations at the I-Bar Ranch by 8:00 am on Saturday, May 20th. You will see a crowd of folks gathering and buses and these locations will be well signed.
Habitat connectivity is critical to supporting healthy wildlife populations and obsolete fencing on our public lands is often a lethal barrier. Help us to support our local herds and meet some amazing people along the way!
What to Expect: Volunteers will remove fence staples and wire clips using bolt cutters, roll up wire, and remove T-Posts. We will try to finish at a reasonable time so folks will have time to fish, hike, or relax at camp if you're staying for the full weekend. Even if you can’t swing the overnight stay we would love to have the help for either day.
What to bring for the work day: Leather gloves, safety glasses (sunglasses are fine), and fence tools (pliers, post puller, etc) if you have them but not necessary. Plenty of water, sunscreen, bug spray, and proper clothing for working outside and removing fence (jeans, boots, long-sleeve shirt).
Saturday Work Day Schedule:
All volunteers will need to be at the signed volunteer pick-up/drop-off locations by 8:00 am. Transport will be leaving by 8:30 am.
Work Project: 4-5 hours, returning around 2:00 pm.
