Colorado Public Lands Day Volunteer Clean Up

Join Us for a Colorado Public Lands Day Stewardship Project!

The cleanup will be led by the Colorado Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers and anyone interested in giving back to their public lands is welcome to join! Please contact Kylie Schumacher (309-287-1810) for any questions.

Where: Skin Gulch– about a 40 minute drive from Fort Collins

  • If you would like to carpool - we will meet at New Belgium Brewery, Saturday morning at 8:45am
  • If you are driving yourself - meet us at the parking at the SE corner of the intersection of CO-14 and Stove Prairie Road around 9:30/9:45am (see map below).

When: Saturday, May 19th 8:45am – 2:00pm. We will meet at New Belgium Brewery at 8:45am. From here we will carpool up to Skin Gulch. Work time should be approximately 2 hours. If carpooling, we will stop for lunch before heading back to New Belgium.

What: Skin Gulch is highly utilized for recreational shooting. Unfortunately, visitors often leave behind shells, casings, trash, and targets including large electronic equipment. We will work within the first half-mile of the gulch to collect and dispose of this trash.

After cleanup, crew is welcome to join us at the Mishawaka for lunch. New Belgium has offered a free beer to anyone who volunteers this day. After lunch, we will meet back at the brewery where you can enjoy a beer (or two).

What to bring:

  • Boots
  • Long Pants
  • Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen (check the weather before you go!)
  • Work gloves (if you have extra, please bring them!)
  • We will provide a few light drinks and snacks, but pack additional food if you would like
