The Armed Forces Initiative is the BHA program focused on creating conservationists within the military community. Come join Colorado AFI and learn how to fly fish!
A Lunch and Learn is a workshop style event where attendees will be taught the ins and outs of outdoor skills such as fly fishing. We will be getting on the water and putting use to our newly acquired skills. Join us for a fun and educational day spent learning the basics of fly fishing!
Topics covered include:
· Fly Rods, reels, lines, and leaders
· Basic casting instruction
· Fly pattern selection
· How to set up your rod
· Essential fly fishing tools
· Three basic knots
Rods, flies, and terminal tackle will be provided!
Bring your own wading gear (chest waders and wading boots if you have them)
All attendees must have a current Colorado fishing license.
The event will be conducted, rain or shine!

Who can attend:
This event is limited to 5 people maximum. Please fill out the application at the link in the RSVP confirmation email. Selected attendees will receive further information via email from the CO AFI liaison prior to the event.
- This event is open to all members of the military community to participate
(Active duty, Reserves, National Guard, Veterans, and Gold Star families)
- You do not need to be a BHA member to attend
(but we sure would appreciate it if you were)
