Join the Wisconsin Chapter of BHA as we partner with the USFS Chequamegon–Nicolet National Forest crews for a Trail Clearing Day. We will be meeting at the Laona Ranger Station, located right off State Hwy 8 in Laona, WI.
From here we will organize and commute to the work location. The day’s work will entail brush clearing and general trail maintenance. Previous years of heavy winter storm damage have left many of the trails impassable. No chainsaw work will be required of volunteers as we will be working behind a U.S forest service personnel handling the saws.
Pack a lunch, snacks, and water as we will be taking breaks out on the trail near the work area. Please bring with you some bug spray, gloves, long-sleeved shirts, boots, etc. We will be working in remote locations so come prepared and dressed to work for the day.
Camping options are available upon request, but please make arrangements with Joe Binek prior to the event. Free camping at a local County Park is limited and first come first serve. Other State and County fee camping options are available in the area.
