Join the Capital Region Chapter of BHA for Hike to Hunt kickoff event on the Big Schloss Mountain hike straddling the Virginia-West Virginia border in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest.
The 4.5-mile Big Schloss Trail, with 270-degree views of the Shenandoah Valley and Great North Mountain, is one of the prettiest and most impressive hikes within a short drive of Northern Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia. Following the hike we can stretch the distance on the adjacent Tibbet Knob hike or retire to a local watering hole for some post hike refreshments. Camping is available for those that may want to turn the trip into an overnighter.
Directions: We will meet at the Wolf Gap Recreation Area June 1 at 3 p.m.
