Come join the Capital Region Chapter as we hike, hunt, and clean up Idylwild WMA on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Idylwild WMA provides almost 4,000 acres of hunting land and has several easy hiking trails.
This event is part of BHA’s Public Land Pack Out Challenge. Part of our annual Public Lands Month celebration, the Pack Out Challenge invites BHA members across North America to collect and pack out public land trash.
We will meet at 7:30AM at Idylwild WMA in Federalsburg, MD, and break off into small groups for the hunt/clean-up. Each group will be provided a trash bag to pick up trash. We will start the hunt by 8 AM and meet back at the parking area by 10:30AM. After the hunt we will clean up the parking area and depart by 11AM.
Folks should bring hunting equipment if participating in the squirrel hunt and are encouraged to bring gloves, a backpack, or anything else they might need for picking up trash.
We will meet in the parking area just north of Houston Branch at the intersection of Route 306 and Turner Road. See Map Below.
We will be taking special precautions at this event to follow coronavirus regulations and guidelines, including:
