"To those devoid of imagination a blank place on the map is a useless waste; to others, the most valuable part" Aldo Leopold.
Comprised of Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., the Capital Region Chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers has come together to provide a voice in the mid-Atlantic region for hunters, anglers, and all outdoorsman to protect our public lands, waters, and wildlife. The Capital Region, encompassing the Chesapeake Bay, the Delmarva, and the Blue Ridge, and stretching across the Shenandoah to the Alleghenies, is where this experiment in American ideals began and where we can still hunt and fish the same hills, glades, and waters as our forefather's so many generations before us. Our chapter will work to keep the “backcountry” experience possible by protecting our remaining public lands, waters, and wildlife. We will be active in our region to promote the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers mission and values, habitat protection/enhancement, protecting/enhancing access, and to be the voice when our legacy is threatened. We will work diligently so future generations will have the ability to enjoy the backcountry experience we all hold dear, in the remaining wild places in our region.
