Amazing opportunity for those in/around Jacksonville, NC interested in getting into bowhunting and archery! The newly formed BHA Lejeune AFI is hosting a can’t-miss event at Extreme Outfitters—a pro shop and gear retailer with an archery range on location - founded and staffed by military veterans, dependents, and first responders dedicated to serving those who serve since 2001.
Admission is just $15 for military (active duty and retired) or $35 for civilians. In addition to the 2-hour course on bowhunting and archery, all attendees will receive a 1-year membership to Backcountry Hunters & Anglers. [Memberships will be automatically renewed at listed expiration for those with current BHA membership.]
The course will cover:
Purchasing your first bow
Budget, fit, accessories (arrows, sights, stabilizers, etc.), set-up & tuning
- Arrow selection from target to hunting arrows
Archery 101
Shot process, form & technique, target archery
Introduction to Bowhunting
Hunting styles (saddle/stand/ground), shot placement, scent & noise control, concealment & camo
- Q&A
