Join us next Saturday, October 17th for a work project in partnership with the BLM Uncompahgre Field Office to help reduce impacts to big game winter ranges in Burn Canyon arising from illegal trail usage.
We will be constructing 2 short sections of wire fence off each side of a newly installed gate and putting up signs at 3 gate locations to educate users about trail closures and their impact.
Bring work gloves, water, a mask, lunch, work boots, etc.
Meet at the upper trailhead and parking lot for the Burn Canyon trails. Turn off highway 145 on to county road AA 42 at the National Forest Access sign approximately 1 mile west of Norwood. Take AA 42 / Burn Canyon road for about 4 miles, across Naturita Canyon to the top of the hill and the trailhead will be on the right. The project site is located on BLM lands adjacent to the Burn Canyon road approximately 4 miles from the trailhead.
