Come join Vermont’s BHA at Boyer State Forest just outside Montpelier on July 22 starting at 10 a.m. to help release apple trees that are being shaded out. We will be hiking from the parking lot to girdle (debark a ring around the trunk) and cut down marked trees with hatchets and hand saws. That will give more sunlight to the apple trees so they can continue to produce food for wildlife. It’s a roughly 1 mile, 20-minute hike up hill to the apple trees. After the apple trees are released, please join us for burgers back at the parking lot.
