Crowd favorites from the inaugural Bonanza return, such as the World Famous Owl Hoot Contest, Q & A with bear biologist Myron Means, and yes, a live recording of Clay Newcomb’s Bear Grease [Render] Podcast!
The Black Bear Bonanza is still family-friendly with fun activities and wildlife exhibits for the kids, thanks to partners like Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation. New for 2023 is the Outdoor Brand Pavilion with support from Umarex, Vortex, and Vista Outdoors, to name a few. Come get a look at the latest gear and learn how you can make a difference on the Public Lands and Waters we love to explore!
We’ve also expanded our line up of seminars and educational booths. For the hunters and chefs, we will have wild game butchering and cooking seminars. Dr. Devin Pettigrew will talk about ancient Native American hunting methods and technologies, and demonstrate the use of an atlatl. And of course, we’ll have sessions dedicated to black bears, their habits, and the hunters who pursue them.
Doors open at 9 AM, and this year, kids 12 and under get in free! Bring the whole family and enjoy the day. We’ll have raffles and door prizes throughout the day thanks to our generous sponsors. We’re pretty sure you’re not going to want to miss Black Bear Bonanza 2023!
Schedule for the day will be finalized in late February. Anticipated Sessions/Seminars include:
LIVE Bear Grease [Render] Podcast with Clay Newcomb
World Famous Owl Hoot Contest with Brent Reaves and Clay Newcomb
Wild game butchering with Rick Spicer
Wild game cooking demonstration with Jonathan Wilkins
