Throughout Public Lands Month BHA members across North America will be participating in our Public Lands Packout, a chapter-to-chapter competition aimed at ridding our shared lands and waters of more than 1,000 bags of garbage. As part of this, the CO chapter will be cleaning up Big Thompson SWA on September 30th.
We will meet at the North parking lot at Simpson Ponds SWA at 5:30pm and clean up until dusk.
Please bring a mask, gloves, boots, and any tools you want to collect garbage with. We will provide water, trash, and some snacks.
To support this effort, our friends at First Lite are donating $5 to BHA for every bag of trash packed out, up to $5000, during the month of September. First Lite will also be giving away 20 gift cards valued at $100 each to the top 20 public land trash packers. Additionally, 10 gift cards will be given away throughout the month to those who share a photo of the Public Lands Packout on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #publiclandpackout and #publiclandowner.
