New Mexico Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is excited to partner with Trout Unlimited and the US Forest Service for a riparian habitat improvement project at Big Bear Creek. Come camp out Friday night and bring all your gear needed to have a great weekend improving public lands. Supper will be provided Friday after work. Water and Gatorade will be provided as well but please come prepared with your own water, snacks, work clothes and a sturdy pair of work gloves. This project will be led by Bradley Allen and Josh Seowtowa of the Holloman Hunters group.
Friday, September 24 - 1 pm: Meet at Ranger Station at 901 Mecham Dr. Ruidoso, NM 88345
Saturday, September 25 - 7 am - 4 pm: Meet at Junction of Forest Road 107 (FS107) and Forest Road 107A (FS107A) Bonito Lake road and Big Bear Canyon Road.
Directions: Proceed north from Ruidoso on NM48. Turn left on NM37 and approximately 1.5 miles turn onto Forest Road 107. Continue on Forest Road 107 past Bonito Lake for approximately 6.5 miles. The area is located on the south side of the canyon near the junction of Forest Road 107 Forest Road 107A
