Colorado Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is glad to welcome Murphy Robinson as the newly appointed sportsmen’s representative to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Commission. Appointed by Governor Jared Polis on Friday, August 16, 2024, Robinson steps into this crucial role at a pivotal time for hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts across the state.
Murphy Robinson brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to his new role on the CPW Commission. A devoted sportsman, Robinson’s love for hunting is deeply personal. Though he did not grow up in a hunting family, Robinson was introduced to the world of bird and waterfowl hunting by mentors who inspired his journey. Over the years, he expanded his hunting experience to include big game, achieving success with pronghorn and mule deer. His family's preference for game meat over all others is a testament to his commitment to a lifestyle that embraces the values of conservation and sustainable harvesting.
Professionally, Murphy Robinson is the CEO of Robinson Corporations Security Group. Before this role, he served as the Executive Director of the Denver Department of Public Safety and as Deputy Mayor, bringing a strong leadership background to his new position with the CPW Commission. His data-driven approach and commitment to fact-based decision-making will be invaluable as he navigates the complexities of wildlife management and conservation in Colorado.
Robinson has already demonstrated his eagerness to engage with the hunting and angling communities. Following his appointment, he quickly connected with BHA, and other partner organizations in Colorado’s hunting community to ensure he is well-prepared for his first CPW meeting. Robinson is passionate about advocating for the interests of hunters and anglers and is committed to fulfilling his new role with integrity and dedication.
As Robinson steps into his role on the CPW Commission, BHA encourages all members of Colorado’s outdoor community to welcome him and support his efforts to represent our shared values. We look forward to working closely with him to ensure that Colorado’s rich hunting and fishing heritage is preserved for future generations.
Backcountry Hunters & Anglers seeks to ensure North America's outdoor heritage of hunting and fishing in a natural setting, through education and work on behalf of wild public lands, waters, and wildlife.
