North America’s biggest gathering of public lands hunters and anglers
shifts to online format, June 1-6

MISSOULA, Mont. – Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is moving the BHA North American Rendezvous online in 2020, responding to circumstances arising from the coronavirus and at the same time opening up access to the continent’s biggest gathering of public lands sportsmen and women June 1-6.

Following a record-setting turnout at the 2019 Rendezvous in Boise, Idaho, BHA is expecting its 2020 event to break records again owing to the accessibility of its new format and overwhelmingly enthusiastic response from members of the fast-growing hunting and angling group.

“BHA members are innovators and action-takers,” said BHA President and CEO Land Tawney. “Will we miss the high fives, laughs and energy that form a core part of a traditional Rendezvous? Absolutely. That said, our staff, North American board, corporate partners and our greater community have come together to create an unprecedented lineup. Rendezvous is on…and it’ll be one for the record books!”

The 2020 Rendezvous program features seminars and workshops ranging from mule packing and boat rigging to predator biology and public lands advocacy. Storytelling, hands-on demonstrations and live discussions infuse returning crowd favorites like Filson Campfire Storytelling and the Public Land Owner Film Fest as well as newly added programming such as bear hunting tips and tactics, public land upland hunting and an exclusive early screening of Patagonia’s new documentary, “Public Trust.”

Priority landscapes like Bristol Bay and the Boundary Waters are the focus of panel discussions with BHA staff and partners. Special guests include public lands all-stars such as Remi Warren, Flip Pallot, Hilary Hutcheson, Randy Newberg, Ryan Callaghan, Shane Mahoney, Mark Healey, Clay Newcomb, Kelly Galloup, Mark Kenyon and Hal Herring among many others.

All events, speakers and seminars are available to view live and in real time as well as after the fact. Registration is available now.

Rendezvous 2020 is made possible thanks to the support of BHA corporate partners, including Alpacka, Benchmade, Crispi Boots, Danner, Decked, Federal Ammunition, Filson, First Lite, Gerber Gear, goHUNT, Leupold, Nemo Equipment, onX, Passalacqua Winery, Rep Your Water, Seek Outside, Savage Arms, Stanley, Stone Glacier, Tanglefree, Traeger Grills, Victory Archery, Vortex Optics, Waterworks-Lamson, Weatherby, Weston Supply Co. and YETI. More than $20,000 of gear will be given away throughout the week.

Backcountry Hunters & Anglers was formed around an Oregon campfire in 2004. With chapters in 45 states and the District of Columbia, two Canadian provinces and one Canadian territory, BHA brings an authentic, informed, boots-on-the-ground voice to the conservation of public lands. Abundant access to our lands and waters, conservation of important fish and wildlife habitat and the principles of fair chase underlie the BHA mission.
