A huge thank you to our volunteers and event sponsors @pcdhfc, @reliablegun, @silvercoreinc for making this day happen for this awesome community of folks!
Funds raised will go towards local wildlife conservation projects such as BC BHA x Wildcam camera trapping study. We're working with an MSc Candidate for Ecological Restoration at Simon Fraser University to gather data that will focus on whether the abundance of two generalist species differs between several habitat types.
British Columbia BHA has been working for years to gain non-profit status in Canada, and it's a slow process. Without this status, it's impossible to have the resources to take on large-scale wildlife conservation projects. Meanwhile, our focus is on building an inclusive community of hunters and gatherers advocating for wild places to stay wild.
