National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest single-day volunteer effort. Each year, thousands of volunteers come together on the fourth Saturday in September to restore and preserve our public lands. As a member of BHA, we know you are no stranger to hard work. This Public Lands Day join us putting in some sweat equity at Barr Lake State Park for a day of giving back. Barr Lake has something everyone. In addition to being a home to numerous wildlife species, Barr Lake offers fishing, dove and waterfowl hunting, and a 12 lane 3D archery range.
This Public Lands Day, we will be staining the boardwalk, cleaning up the shore-line, and planting shrubs. Once it’s quitting time, we will have a BBQ and enjoy some fishing with a park ranger on their pontoon boat. Bags of trash collected will go to the Colorado chapter's total for the Public Lands Pack-Out competition. See details for that here.
BYOG (bring your own gloves)!
