event_description: Join the California Chapter in San Diego for a full day of fishing, cooking and chatting about our Public Lands. This would be a great time to share your last years success over the BBQ with like minded individuals and talk about whats in store for 2019.Spin, Spear and Fly Fishing the Surf: 8 AM - Beach across from 203 Rosemont St., La Jolla (look for the tent and BHA sign)Bring your gear of choice and test out a technique with experienced anglers of all backgrounds. Some gear will be available, but the talks and clinics can be experienced without gear. CA fishing license is required for all those over 16 years of age if you intend on actively fishing. Keep your catch and cook it up at the BBQ in the afternoon. Families welcome.Wild Game, Fish and Forageables Potluck BBQ: 4 pm - 242 Rosemont St., La Jolla (well be outside in the courtyard - cant miss us)Dig through your freezer, hit the hills, or bring your morning catch to cook up and share at a wild game potluck with both of our California chefs from the 2019 BHA Rendezvous Wild Game Cook-off. The Chapter will be providing the essentials, drinks, and the wild game we have on hand, but everyone is encouraged to bring something to share so everyone can test out what our members have to offer. There will be a couple BBQs on hand, but pre-cooked is great as well. Shoot us an email if you have anything to contribute!Public Land Owners Film Fest: 8 pm-ish (following BBQ) - 242 Rosemont St., La Jolla (same location - in courtyard)Rounding out the day and immediately following the BBQ, well have a showing of the Backcountry Hunters and Anglers Public Land Owners Film Fest. A selection of member created shorts celebrating our public lands and wildlife. Bring a blanket, chair, some snacks and anything else you need to get comfortable.
