Friend —
The people. Whenever I’m asked to say why BHA is so successful, my answer every single time is the people.
From on-the-ground projects to engagement at state/provincial legislatures, fish and game commissions and federal actions, you all step up time and time again. We may not have money falling out of our pockets, but I’ll take our currency of the people anytime anywhere for anything.
I’ve traveled the last two weeks to Pheasant Fest in Omaha, Nebraska, and the North American Wildlife Conference in Spokane, Washington. It felt good to get out and see the people again, it filled my bucket. At Pheasant Fest, chapter leaders and members from New Mexico to Pennsylvania and many in between stopped by to say hi. The plotting and scheming with Nebraska chapter leaders was amazing. In Spokane, the pint night at THE Hunt, a sweet little venue owned by a member, was packed with folks from Washington…some driving in from over an hour. The energy was palpable.
Those two trips gave me a preview to all that Rendezvous will be in Missoula from May 12-14. I can’t wait to reconnect with all of you, revel in the years' past successes (which are many) and plot and scheme for the coming year. There's nothing like the Rendezvous to stoke the fire, and this year's event is all that and then some.
Buy your tickets today (March 31) and get entered to win a $500 First Lite gift card … the odds are in your favor. Bring your family, bring your friends. It’s our second year doing an outdoor venue, which most definitely fits our vibe. We learned from last year and have even more fun in store this year.
Travel safe and see you around the campfire in Missoula!
Onward and upward,
Land Tawney President & CEO
