Friend —
April showers bring celebration flowers, and we have had some awesome wins for conservation this month!
BHA members were influential in helping pass the MAPLand Act, which will provide better digital maps to the public so we can access our public lands. In California, BHA mobilized to keep the black bear season intact. And just late yesterday afternoon, the four hunters accused of “trespassing” via “corner crossing” on public lands in Wyoming were acquitted! When you all step into the arena and raise your voices, there's no limit to what we can accomplish!
And the time to celebrate your grassroots asskickery and stack of recent wins over the last year is coming soon, because Rendezvous is fast approaching! We are on the Road to Rendezvous, too, bringing the ultimate backcountry rig outfitted by our friends at Mountain Top Motors that you can win! Seriously, this is a sweet truck!
My anticipation of the big event grows daily as I talk with those of you across North America who are traveling to Missoula. We'll stoke the BHA fire, hear from our community's leaders, learn new skills, listen to Campfire Stories at the historic Wilma Theatre, view heated competition among teams at the Wild Game Cook-Off and revel at the Backcountry Brewfest!
Seeing our community gathered in person at BHA Rendezvous last year was just what I needed to fill my bucket. This year is going to be even better. Join us!
Onward and upward,
Land Tawney President & CEO
