Please join the Pennsylvania Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers for a Backcountry BBQ & Campout. This will be an opportunity for BHA members (and prospective members) and their families to get to know each other, discuss Pennsylvania BHA topics, and enjoy our public lands with a hike and other outdoor activities for kids and adults alike. In order to leave our public lands better than when we found them, we'll also pitch in on a service project or cleanup in cooperation with park managers during our stay.
We'll also discuss the Land and Water Conservation Fund- a critical conservation tool set to expire September 31 unless Congress acts- and visit facilities at Ricketts Glen built with LWCF funds. Click Here to learn more about LWCF.
While supplies last, attendees will be able to purchase raffle tickets for a Savage Axis II 6.5 Creedmoor with a Nikon scope. Only 100 tickets will be available at $20/ticket. We’ll also have BHA merchandise for sale.
There is no cost for this event.

Details:
- WHEN: Saturday, September 15 @ 10:00 AM to Sunday, September 16 @ 10:00 AM
- WHERE: Ricketts Glen State Park (We will be camping at group camping area 4 and grilling at pavilion 1).
- ACTIVITIES: A waterfall hike and a few other activities and games for kids and adults.
- WHAT IS PROVIDED: A grill is available for anybody to use. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and a few sides will be provided.
- WHAT TO BRING:
- Beverages (Alcohol is not allowed in Pennsylvania State Parks)
- Camping gear including camp chairs
- Kayaks, fishing rods, hiking boots, etc.
- You are welcome to bring anything else you’d like to grill (wild game, veggies, etc.)
- Any side dish or dessert to share is appreciated but not necessary
- Don't forget to bring your best stories for our campfire storytelling on Saturday night!
