Part 1 - May 31st 6pm Mountain Time

Using your veteran benefits to work in the outdoor industry

Guide-source outdoors will present:

  • Hunting Guide and Outfitter Careers
  • Guide Schools and Utilizing Your GI Bill
  • Navigating the Outdoor Industry
  • Requirements and Licensing

 

 Part 2 - June 7th 6pm Mountain Time

Creating your own Startup Guide Service:

Two Veteran Hunting Guides will discuss:

  • The pros and cons of opening your own business
  • Working in the fishing and hunting industries.
  • Common Mistakes to avoid
  • What worked for them

 

Part 3 - June 14th 6pm mountain time

Working as a Startup Manufacturer

Rick Hutton and Jake Jourdonnais of FHF Gear will discuss:

  • Working for a Startup
  • Designing your own gear
  • Utilizing your military knowledge to make hunting gear or apparel. 

 

Part 4 - June 21st 6 pm mountain time 

Sawyer Briel and Mark Borgman of Vortex optics will discuss:

  • Their Careers at vortex
  • What Vortex looks for in a Candidate
  • Military Skillsets that standout in a candidate
  • Work-life for a major outdoor industry manufacturer

 

Part 5 - June 28th 6pm mountain time

Writing and Photography in the outdoors

AFI North American Board Member, writer, and professional chief Justin Townsend and BHA cinematographer Travis Bradford:

  • Their Careers in the outdoors
  • How their experiences as veterans helps them in their field
  • Tools that worked for them to get started in the outdoor industry

 


Part 6 - July 5th 6 pm Mountain time

Working in Conservation

AFI North American Board Member and Fort Lewis Biologist Justin Spruill, and BHA Operations Director Frankie McBurney will talk about:

  • Their path into the Conservation piece of the outdoor industry
  • Why they feel conservation is the best fit for them
  • Common mistakes and tips for how to start your career in conservation.
