We're starting (fairly) easy with Pat's Rubber Legs. Hannah says it's tricky with the legs, but nothing insurmountable for beginners. It's used pretty much everywhere and doesn't require many tools (just a vise and bobbin).
Pat’s Rubber Legs Materials List:
Hook: 3X-long nymph hook
Weight: .015 lead-free wire
Thread: Black, 6/0 or 140-denier
Tails/antennae/legs: Black Spanflex or life flex or rubber legs
Body: Black-and-coffee or olive or whatever color you like Variegated Chenille, medium
OPTIONAL Adhesive: head cement or clear nail polish
